Theme Requirements

To use Epixx, make sure your hosting provider is running the following software:

  1. WordPress 4.8 or higher.
  2. PHP 5.6 or greater. WordPress officially suggests to use PHP 7.2.
  3. MySQL 5.6 or greater.

Recommended PHP Limits

Many issues that you may run into such as: white screen, demo content fails when importing, empty page content and other similar issues are all related to low PHP configuration limits. The solution is to increase the PHP limits. You can do this on your own, or contact your web host and ask them to increase those limits to a minimum as follows:

  • max_execution_time 180
  • memory_limit 128M
  • post_max_size 64M
  • upload_max_filesize 32M
  • max_input_time = 60
  • max_input_vars = 3000

Also consider upgrading your PHP version to the latest version, the newer the better.

WordPress Information

To install this theme you must have a working version of WordPress already installed. If you need help installing WordPress, follow the instructions in WordPress Codex or you can watch the. Below are ll the useful links for WordPress information.

What's included

When you purchase our theme from Themeforest, you need to download the Epixxfiles from your Themeforest account. Navigate to your downloads tab on Themeforest and find Epixx. Click the download button to see the two options. The Main Files contain everything, the Installable WordPress Theme is just the installable WordPress theme file. Below is a full list of everything that is included when you download the main files, along with a brief description of each item.

  • Installable WordPress file only. You can upload this file when you install the theme.

  • All files and documentation (full zip folder). You will need to extract and locate the installable WordPress file to upload when you install the theme. bdevs-envato

Theme Installation

It’s easy to install Epixx. Just follow these steps, they won’t take much of your time.
  1. Download the theme zip file from your Envato account from ThemeForest. download

  2. **All files & documentation **(full zip folder). You will need to extract and locate the installable WordPress file to upload when installing theme
  3. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard (Ex: http://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin).
  4. Navigate to Appearance > Themes.

  5. Click on Add New and then Click on Upload Theme .

  6. Click Add New, then click Upload Theme > Choose File

  7. Navigate to the .zip file on your computer, then click Install Now

  8. When the installation complete, click Activate. You will be redirected to Themes page with Epixx activated.

  9. Done.

Install theme via FTP

To manually upload your new WordPress theme, login with your credentials to your website and locate the wp-content folder in your WordPress install files. Upload the un-zipped 'Epixx' folder into the: wp-content/themes folder.

Once uploaded, activate the theme by heading to the “Themes” menu in the WordPress Dashboard. Locate the Epixxtheme and hit “Activate”.

The theme files will be stored on your server in the wp-content/themes/ location.

Note: When uploading your theme with the installer, please ensure you are uploading the theme .zip file, not the entire package you downloaded. In this case, you will be uploading Epixx.zip.

Plugin Installation

After activating Epixx, you will see this notice:

Click Begin installing plugins. You will be navigated to Install Required Plugins page.

Simply check all of them (or all of required plugins and some recommended plugins you like) and from the drop down select Install, then hit Apply.

Demo Installation

Our demo data import lets you have the whole data package in minutes, delivering all kinds of essential things quickly and simply. All you need to do is to navigate to Appearance >Import. Hit Import this demo.

Go to Setting > Reading > Front page displays and choose the page you like to be your front page then hit Save changes.

How to get the updated theme

You can get the updated theme on Themeforest.

Updating Methods

There are four methods to update WordPress themes to the newer version. These new updates are essential if you want to have a bug free website as we give new features and improvements to the theme over time. Some of these updates might be needed in order to make the theme compatible with new versions of WordPress. There is no risk of losing your settings and pages. However if you had done modifications in parent theme files, then they will be lost.

Please note that before updating a theme, we recommend you to make a backup of your modified files. Also, we recommend to deactivate its current version and then upload the zip file with the new theme version then activate and update the theme.

1. Update Using FTP

  • Go to your Hosting Panel and find your FTP account. You need the username and the password.
  • Open FileZilla and click on File>Site Manager> New Site

Add the following details

  • Host: usually is ftp.yourdomainname.com
  • Protocol: FTP or SFTP
  • Logon Type: Normal
  • User: your username
  • Password: your password
  • Click on Connect.
  1. Login into your Themeforest account and go to downloads (Dashboard > downloads)
  2. Download the theme into your computer
  3. Unzip the item main file
  4. Locate the Epixx.zip file and unzip it. Make sure your unzipping software does not create an extra directory with the same name nested into each other.
  5. Drag and drop theme main folder into your FTP program with the destination: “YOUR_HOSTING_ROOT/YOUR_SUBDIRECTORY/wp-content/themes/”
  6. FTP program will give a warning that there is an existing with the same directory name, choose to replace all.
  7. It will take longer time to replace all files. After the theme files are replaced, login to your WordPress dashboard and you will see the updated version change log. You have to update the Epixx core plugin as the same theme version of the theme to ensure the compatibility between the theme and core plugin. When there is a new update available for the plugin, you will find the plugin update notice in the dashboard.
  8. To update the Core Plugin, just click to the “Begin Updating Plugin.“

Note: You can also upload the new version of the theme to “YOUR_HOSTING_ROOT/YOUR_SUBDIRECTORY/wp-content/themes/” directory with cPanel File Manager. Make sure every time that, you have replaced the old theme with the new version of the theme.

2. Auto Update using Envato Market

  1. Install the Envato Market plugin.
  2. Go to themeforest.net > Settings > API Keys.
  3. Generate an API key and store it in a text file as you will need it shortly.
  4. Now login into your WordPress admin dashboard
  5. From left sidebar click on Envato Market.
  6. As shown in below screenshot fill the API key that you just retrieved from themeforest.net
  7. Save Settings.
  8. Once the page refreshed you will see the list of themes you have purchased.
  9. If there is a new version available you will get the “update Automatically link.
  10. e clicked, the theme will be updated to the most recent version.

3. Manual Update Through WordPress Admin Panel

  1. Navigate to Appearance > Themes Activate another theme to deactivate the Epixx theme
  2. Delete the existing installed theme (old version).
  3. Unzip the file you just downloaded from ThemeForest and locate the WordPress Theme Epixx.zip
  4. Still within the Themes section, on the header tab, click on “Install Themes”, then on the header second tab click “Upload”.
  5. Click “Browse…” and locate the new theme file Epixx.zip
  6. In the “Upgrade existing theme?” option choose “Yes” from the dropdown list.
  7. Click “Install Now”.
  8. Click “Activate”.

4. Theme Auto Update

From Epixx 3.2.0 version, you can update the theme to the latest version automatically from the WordPress dashboard. The theme auto-update feature will be active upon registering the theme with the product purchase code.

You can check if the update available from Dashboard > Updates from WordPress admin.

Free Support System

All of BasicTheme’s items come with 6 months of included support and free lifetime updates for your Theme.
Once the 6 months of included support is up, you have the opportunity to extend support coverage up to 6 or 12 months further.
If you choose to not extend your support, you will still be able to submit bug reports via email or item comments and still have access to our online documentation knowledge base and video tutorials.

We are not able to provide support for code customizations or third-party plugins. Page Options

On each page you'll see a Template Settings metabox, located below the page content editor. This metabox includes various options to control the header style , footer visibility and Logo Setting on each page.

Create a New Page

Step 1: Navigate to Pages in your admin sidebar and click Add New option.

Step 1: Choose Edit With Elementor to edit your page.

How to Change Page Title

Step 1: Go to Pages > All Pages. Then point at the page you want to edit. You will see the Quick Edit option.

Step 2: Edit the title as you want. Delete the current slug. Then hit Update. It will automatically generate new slug for your page.

You can also edit some other options such as parent, template, status... If you want to edit more options, hit Edit instead of Quick Edit.

How to Create a Menu

Setting up Navigation Menus works normally as it does for any WordPress theme. If you’re new to WordPress, you can learn more about menus in the WordPress Codex article.

  1. Go to Appearance → Menus in your admin sidebar and click Create a new menu option.. menu
  2. Select Create a new menu at the top of the page menu
  3. Choose menu items you want to add from the left and hit Add to Menu. Then hit Save Menu menu
  4. Your new menu has been created: menu
  5. Using the Custom Links and Pages boxes at the left, add items to the menu and drag and drop to arrange them.
  6. If you would like to use this menu in the primary navigation of the theme, scroll down to the Menu Settings area, enable the checkbox next to the Main Menu menu locations. menu
  7. Click Save Menu and that is all.

How to Create a New Post

Step 1: Navigate to Posts > Add New in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 2: Create a title, and insert your post content in the editing field.

Step 3: For a video/audio post, just simply paste the video/audio URL into the Embed Code field.

Step 4: Add Categories from the right side. Categories is meta information you create for the post. Each category is a meta link that your viewer can click to view similar type of posts. To assign it to the post, check the box next to the Category name. You can also access and edit Categories from the Post sidebar item in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 5: Add Tags from the right side. Tags is meta information you create for the post. Each tag is a link that your viewer can click to view similar type of posts. Type the name of the tag in the field, separate multiple tags with commas. You can also access and edit Tags from the Post sidebar item in your WordPress admin sidebar.

Step 6: For a single image, click the first Featured Image Box, select an image and click the Set Featured Image button.

Step 7: You can also customize Page Title & Sidebar Options in Settings.

Step 8: Once you are finished, click Publish to save the post.

How to Create a Category

Step 1: Post >> Categories

Step 2: Name the category and fill to other section below.

Step 3: Hit Add New Category. Your new Category will aprear in the table of all category immediately.

Similar to Category, you can create a new Tag in the same way.

How to Add Widget in Sidebar

Step 1: Appearance >> Widgets. You can see all of the Sidebar here.

Step 2:Choose the Widgets you want and drag it to the Sidebar you want or click on it to choose the Sidebar.

In the case you want to delete its settings, drag it back.

How to Edit Widget

Hit Appearance > Widgets. Choose a widget you want to edit.

Then choose its area as you wish and hit Add Widget.

Then go to the right where you will notice a just-added widget. In this case, Search on Footer|#2. Type information and hit Save.
